AO10EURAO: 10th anniversary of EURAO (2005-2015)  español english

In occasion of ten years of the European Radio Amateurs' Organization (EURAO), the EA Digital Federation (FEDI-EA) will be on the air, from June 15 to July 15, 2015, with the special callsign AO10EURAO, to be used in multi-club mode through its usual booking system, and much more...

Also the PTT has authorized all Spanish licence holders (who wish) to use special callsigns in this format:

  • changing prefix: those EA to AM, EB to AN and EC to AO
  • adding the number 10 behind the own district figure
  • and keeping the suffix of their own callsign.

Thus, for example, to the callsign EA3RKF would correspond AM310RKF.

In this case, FEDI-EA itself offers to take charge of managing the QSLs of those radio amateurs (members or not) who so wish, both economically and handling cards (design, printing, sticking labels, enveloping and shipping), applying to them its usual traffic policy, with the only condition to facilitate the activation log.

EURAO was born in 2005 with the aim to be the alternative for grouping all associations, clubs and individual radio amateurs wishing to obtain an adequate representation in international institutions, share their activities and experiences, develop common services and work together on new projects.

Since then, 10 years have passed, in which the Organization has progressed, and expanded, steadily through the different areas and countries.

How to contact the special station?

During the month-long activity, it will be on the air using the different bands and more usual modes (phony, CW, digital, etc.). A good way to locate it is through DX Cluster and/or also consulting the agenda of the activity.

Members who wish, may go on air with this special callsign, upon request by the booking system enabled for this purpose (see below).

The contact is also valid for the Radio Clubs of the World Award, EANET.

How to get the QSL?

In addition to making contact (or listening the SWLs) with the special station, you should act according to the case:

  • Members of FEDI-EA and/or EURAO: do nothing, automatically you will receive it via EuroBureauQSL. Needn't to send your own QSL, but if you do so, it is welcome. In this case, set as Manager: EA3RKF.

  • Other hams: send a SAE with 1 IRC to: FEDI-EA - P.O. Box 3050 - 08200 Sabadell (SPAIN).

Warning: Don't try to send your QSLs via IARU bureaus classic system, they will never get to us because its member society in Spain (URE) breaches Resolution 85-9 of the IARU.

Reservations to operate the special station

We take care of almost everything: apply for special callsign, configure the booking system, upload logs to eQSL and to our website, send QSL cards, etc.

You just have to enjoy doing radio, fill out and send the log.

Well, you also need to choose the time you want to use the special callsign via our booking system. Read the procedure and follow its recommendations.

As a suggestion, the call may be in English: "CQ CQ CQ ... this is AO10EURAO, special event station in occassion of 10th anniversary of EURAO", or in Spanish: "CQ CQ CQ ... de AO10EURAO, estación especial con motivo del 10º aniversario de EURAO".

The activity will start at 00:00 h EA 2015-06-15 (22:00 h UTC 2015-06-14) and end at 23:59 h UTC 2015-07-15 (01:59 h EA 2015-07-16).

Thanks in advance to all those who collaborate in this activity, either as operators or as simple correspondents. Have fun!
