AOxPAZ: International Day of Peace  español english

It is observed each year on 21 September, sponsored by the United Nations, and is devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace. The 2014 edition, which falls on Sunday, is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the General Assembly Declaration on the Right of Peoples to Peace.

The modest contribution of EA Digital Federation and its environment, will be to convey this message of peace through the waves, laying on the air: AO1PAZ, AO2PAZ, AO3PAZ, AO4PAZ, AO5PAZ, AO6PAZ, AO7PAZ, AO8PAZ and AO9PAZ.

You can also work on it, either as an operator or as a contacted station...

Because we believe that it is worth involving amateur radio in such a noble cause like Peace, from its double aspect of playful activity with global reach, but also thought to feed own consciences, with the maximum illusion we invest our time in organizing this event, in the necessary steps, in having a good time with the radio, etc.

In short, another multi-club activity where members of several associations put on the air special stations applied for this purpose.

How to contact the special stations?

All day, they will be on the air using the different bands and modes more usual (phony, CW, digital, etc.). A good way to locate them is through DX Cluster and/or also consulting the agenda of the activity.

How to get the QSL?

In addition to making contact (or listening the SWLs) with one or several of the active stations from all Spanish districts, you should act according to the case:

  • Members of FEDI-EA and/or EURAO: it is enough to request the QSL card on the website of EuroBureauQSL using the option "QSL Request", indicating in Manager: EA3RKF. It is not necessary to send your own QSL.

  • Hams not members from countries where EuroBureauQSL is present: send your QSL and a SASE to the entry point of your own country (national tariff).

  • OMs/YLs from other countries: sent a self addressed envelope and 1 IRC to: FEDI-EA - P.O. Box 3050 - 08200 Sabadell (SPAIN).

Warning: Don't try to send your QSLs via IARU bureaus classic system, they will never get to us because its member society in Spain (URE) throws them away.

How to get the Award?

Those contacting with at least 3 special stations of different districts, will be able to download the special Award for free from the internet in pdf format.

Those who get 5 districts contacted will reach the Award with distinctive Bronze, with 7 to Silver and with the all 9 to Gold.

These contacts are also valid for the Radio Clubs of the World Award, EANET.

Acknowledgments

Our sincere thanks in advance to all those operators and volunteers, whose efforts will enable all of these stations to be on the air during that one day, announcing to the world the message of peace that seeks to spread United Nations.

Since transmissions will be done from homes of members wishing to activate the special callsigns, if you also want to contribute to this, read the procedure and conditions of use of the booking system and enjoy a very special time of radio.
